Fairchild Named Preseason All-America

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein University senior wide receiver Trey Fairchild (Dublin/Coffman) has been selected to the D3football.com Preseason All-America second team, the organization announced Wednesday morning.


Fairchild was a third team All-America pick last season as a junior, posting career highs of 66 catches, 1,133 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns, while also adding a ninth score on the ground.

In addition, he served as the team’s primary punt and kickoff return specialist en route to 213.8 all-purpose yards per game, third most in NCAA Division III. Fairchild also received the Ed Sherman Award in 2011, given to the top receiver in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).

Otterbein opens its 2012 season on September 1, hosting Gallaudet University at Memorial Stadium.
