WESTERVILLE, OHIO — Following his performance at the Otterbein Invitational, Otterbein University junior
Arnez Franklin (Gahanna/Lincoln) was selected the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Track Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.
Franklin helped lead the Otterbein 4x400-meter relay to a first-place finish. He ran the anchor leg, finishing with a time of 51.5. The team combined to post a time of 3:28.84.
Individually, Franklin finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.08. He was the top college runner in the event, however, placing behind unattached runner DeShawn Alston, who turned in a time of 51.05.
Franklin and the Otterbein men’s track and field team will return to action this Saturday when they travel to Marietta for the OAC South Meet.
