BEREA, OHIO – The Otterbein University men’s basketball team dropped its sixth-straight contest Wednesday evening, falling 97-64 at Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio Athletic Conference action.
The Cardinals (5-11) finish their first-half conference slate at 2-7 while the win takes B-W to 10-6 this season and 5-4 in the league.
Otterbein was within striking distance at 32-21 with 5:42 remaining in the first half, but the Yellow Jackets scored the next 13 points before eventually widening the advantage to 51-30 by intermission.
Baldwin-Wallace extended the lead to 30, at 71-41, eight minutes into the second half before ultimately finishing with the 97-64 victory.
Freshman RaNeal Ewing led the Cardinals with 12 points on 5 of 6 shooting while Tommy Waterwash finished with 10.
Kyle Payne scored a game-high 16 points for B-W with Kevin Krakowiak and Grant Fairhurst posting 15 apiece.
Otterbein shot .390 from the field compared to .515 for the Jackets.
The Cards return home to finish out the week, hosting the University of Mount Union Saturday evening. Tip-off from the Rike Center is slated for 7:30 p.m.
