Horsley and Longsdorf Head to All American Bowl

WESTERVILLE, OHIO – Otterbein University seniors Chaz Horsley and Wil Longsdorf have been selected to participate in the Division II/III football Senior All American Bowl. The game will be played Dec. 18 at the Mall of America Field in Minneapolis, Minn. 

Horsley, a defensive lineman, and Longsdorf, a linebacker, were part of a senior group that tied the school record for most wins as a class, winning 28 games over the course of their careers. 

A three-year letterman from West Portsmouth, Horsley was selected first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) this season. He finished with 48 tackles, 31 coming unassisted, and made 5.5 tackles for a loss of 19 yards, including 1.5 pass sacks. Over his career, Horsley came up with 106 stops, 15.5 tackles for loss, and six pass sacks. 

Longsdorf, a three-year letterman from London, led the Cardinals with 82 tackles from his outside linebacker position on his way to second team All-OAC honors this season. He made 43 unassisted tackles and was credited with 9.5 tackles for a loss of 21 yards. In addition, Longsdorf ranked seventh in the OAC for most tackles this past fall. Throughout his time in Westerville, Longsdorf compiled 208 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, and six sacks. 

The All American Bowl was founded in 1996 to give athletes the opportunity to compete against the best at their level in an all star game setting. The All American Bowl was created to fill the void of the lack of all star games available to athletes in High School, DII, DIII, JUCO, and minor league football. In April of 1996, the first All American Bowl was played in Minnesota and has since been played at various cities across the country including Atlanta, Miami, and Las Vegas. The All American Bowl also gives athletes the potential to be scouted by colleges and professional football teams.The All American Bowl has several types of games for different levels of competition that include: DII, DIII, JUCO, Minor League Football, Free Agent, and High School. The participants in the All American Bowls have been nominated for their outstanding performances throughout their season, their accomplished career, love for the game, a chance to be noticed, and a last chance to play the game we all love!
