WESTERVILLE, OHIO - Otterbein fourth-year head volleyball coach Monica McDonald has been named the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

McDonald helped guide the Cardinals to its best season in program history this fall, going 26-6 and finishing second in the conference regular season. As a result, the team has earned an at-large bid to compete in its first ever NCAA tournament. 

McDonald has gone 50-15 over her last two seasons and has helped turn Otterbein into a consistent force amongst the conference and Great Lakes region. 

The team travels to Wittenberg Thursday afternoon to open NCAA play against seventh-ranked Calvin (MI). Starting time is set for 12:30 p.m.
